FACULTY DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR ON ETHICS AND HUMANITARIAN INTERVENTION
June 12-15, 1996
Sponsored by the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs in cooperation with the United States Air Force Academy and Colorado College
The Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs, in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force Academy and Colorado College, is pleased to announce a three-day faculty development seminar on "Ethics and Humanitarian Intervention." The seminar will be held on the campus of Colorado College (Colorado Springs, CO) Wednesday, June 12 through Saturday, June 15, 1996. Distinguished scholar Michael J. Smith (University of Virginia) will lead discussions throughout the seminar. John Hittinger (U.S. Air Force Academy) and Matthew Mattern (Carnegie Council) will serve as directors.
Participants will have the opportunity to study both classic and contemporary literature in the field and will be encouraged to integrate ideas of ethical choice into their curriculums. Twenty-five college and university faculty participants who teach international relations will be selected from a nationwide pool of applicants to attend the seminar. We are seeking both senior and junior faculty in the fields of political science, history, philosophy, and sociology.
