TENURE-TRACK FACULTY POSITIONS
Assistant Professor, International Relations (Global Governance, Security Studies)
The University of Richmond, a highly selective, private, liberal arts undergraduate institution named by Newsweek “the hottest university for international studies,” seeks to fill two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in International Relations (one on Global Governance and the other on Security Studies), beginning in the fall of 2009.
The candidate for the Global Governance position should maintain an active research agenda on global governance. The candidate is expected to offer upper-division courses on international law and organization, international relations theory, and introductory-level courses including international relations. The ideal candidate would guide students in Model United Nations and research projects and occasionally teach the department’s research methods course. The candidate is expected to regularly advise majors in Political Science and International Studies.
The candidate for the Security Studies position should maintain an active research agenda in security studies. The candidate should be prepared to teach upper-division courses on American foreign policy, security studies, and introductory-level courses including international relations, and be willing to contribute to the International Studies program. The ideal candidate would employ quantitative methodologies in research, involve students in empirical research, and teach the department’s research methods course.
