THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA 20th-Century Chinese History The University of Oklahoma seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in twentieth-century Chinese History. This position will be a joint appointment in the School of International and Area Studies and the Department of History. Applicants will be expected to teach survey courses on East Asian history as well as upper division and graduate courses on the history of modern China. The teaching load is two courses per semester. Programs and resources on China have grown rapidly at the University of Oklahoma, which is home to the Institute for U.S.-China Issues, the OU Confucius Institute, the new journal Chinese Literature Today, and electronic databases of Chinese language newspapers and journals. The appointment begins August 16, 2010. Salary will be competitive. |
