Overview
Griffith University is looking to appoint up to three post-doctoral/research fellows in International Relations/Comparative Politics. Each fellowship is for the fixed period of four years. The fellowship positions are research-only with no teaching responsibilities.
Although the positions are fixed-term, successful fellows should subsequently be in a strong position to apply for permanent positions at Griffith University.
Fellows will be housed jointly at the Griffith Asia Institute and the Centre for Governance and Public Policy. Griffith University is located in Brisbane, Australia, a diverse city of 1.8 million with a sub-tropical climate.
The role:
Successful candidates will be expected both to publish with the leading journals and presses in the field, as well as conduct policy-relevant research broadly oriented around the themes of governance, security and/or development. The empirical focus of this policy-oriented research will be the Asia-Pacific region.
The person:
Successful candidates must have a doctorate in Political Science/International Relations or related field, or be very near completion, a track record or the potential to publish in leading book presses and journals in the field; a program of research in governance, security and/or development; and an empirical focus on the Asia-Pacific region. It is desirable though not essential that candidates have some policy experience. The committee is open to all methodological backgrounds, but in all cases candidates must be able to communicate relevant findings to policy-makers as well as academic audiences.
This position is offered as a full time, fixed term appointment for four years.
Closes: 15 October 2009
