The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland, invites application for a full-time position at the rank of Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of International Relations with a specialization in International Environmental Politics, starting on 1 September 2010 or a mutually agreed-upon date. Candidates -- men or women -- must hold a Ph.D. (or, if applying for the rank of assistant professor, must be ABD and expect to receive the Ph.D. in the months ahead) in political science, international relations, or an equivalent field. The successful candidate will be familiar with theoretical work in international environmental politics. She or he is expected to teach a graduate-level survey course in that field, as well as at least one general course (on a rotating basis) on international relations and, depending on the rank of the appointment, to supervise master's and doctoral theses.

The language of instruction is either English or French, but candidates will be expected to soon acquire, if not already possess, a working knowledge of the other language.

Applications, including a detailed curriculum vitae and a list of publications, but excluding letters of recommendation and samples of publications, must reach the Director, Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, P.O. Box 136, 1211 Geneva 21, Switzerland (email: director@graduateinstitute.ch) by 1 October 2009.
