Tenured Faculty Member in International Security

  The George Bush School of Government & Public Service, a professional graduate school of public and international affairs at Texas A&M University , invites applications and nominations for a scholar in international security studies.  With the appropriate record of scholarship an endowed chair is available.  Qualified and interested candidates may also be considered for the directorship of the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs.

The selected individual will be a tenured associate or full professor in the School. Successful candidates must have a distinguished record of peer-reviewed scholarship in fields directly relevant to international security.  Candidates with scholarship pertaining to nuclear weapons and arms control—though not required for this position--would likely have additional opportunities for policy-oriented research in the university’s nuclear engineering programs.  To be a candidate as well for the Scowcroft Institute, a person must possess effective administrative experience and a demonstrated commitment to bridging the academic and policy communities. 

The Bush School ’s international affairs program, with a multi-disciplinary faculty and productive connections throughout a strong research university, has experienced rapid growth and attracted well qualified graduate students.  Its Scowcroft Institute is a recently established research unit designed to promote policy oriented research on all aspects of international affairs.  The Bush School and Scowcroft Institute enjoy a unique supportive relationship with the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation and access to the materials of the adjacent Bush Presidential Library.
