ISA 48th ANNUAL CONVENTION

POLITICS, POLICY AND RESPONSIBLE SCHOLARSHIP

Welcome to the website for the 2007 ISA Annual Convention in Chicago and thank you for your commitment to serve as a participant during the convention. The convention theme is: Politics, Policy and Responsible Scholarship. This page will serve as a resource for information about your role as a program participant and will provide critical information about the upcoming meeting. Be sure to visit this site often in the months and weeks prior to the convention as additional information will be added.

  • Convention Blog: The official blog for the 2007 Annual Convention in Chicago has opened. News and announcements relating to the Convention will be posted there as they are received. 

  • Final Program: The final Preliminary Program can be found here in a PDF format.

  • Meetings and Receptions: The final list of meetings and receptions can be found here in a PDF format.

  • Travel Guidelines: The ISA Travel Info website has been updated with information on the new travel guidelines adopted by the UK and the U.S., please check with your airline for the latest changes before your departure to the ISA Annual Convention in Chicago. 

  • Late-Register: Online late-registration has ended. The downloadable late-registration form can be found here (PDF), to bring it with you to the ISA registration desk in Chicago. Download the Chicago on-site registration times and registration desk info here

  • Child Care: ISA is pleased to offer child care services at the 2007 Annual Convention. Enrollment for the Kiddie Corp program will open on Oct. 2. at the following URL: https://www.kiddiecorp.com/isakids.htm

    Jan 30: We have reached the maximum enrollment for the Kiddie Corp program. ISA members may still register for child care services but will be placed on a waiting list. Please do not plan to bring your children to Kiddie Corp unless you receive a registration confirmation. 

    Cost: There is a new rate structure for 2007: Faculty members will pay $50 per child/per day; student members of ISA will pay $25 per child/per day. 

    Location: Child care will be offered from Feb. 28 through March 3, from 8 AM to 6 PM, registration will be located just outside the Williford C foyer on the 3rd floor of the Hilton Chicago. 

    Eligibility: Services are offered to ISA members with pre-registered children. Walk-ins accepted on a space-available basis for ISA members only. Please check availability at the Kiddie Corp Registration Desk, Continental C Foyer, during regular program hours. Entire program fee applies - no discounts for partial or single-day enrollment. 

    Questions about the Kiddie Corp program should be addressed to Jeanne White, ISA Convention Manager.

  • Audio Visual Rentals: Overhead projectors and screens are provided in all panel rooms. Panelists and presenters who wish to rent LCD projectors or other A/V equipment must do so at their own expense. 

    Presentation Services Audio Visual Services (PSAV) is the official audio visual contractor for the ISA Convention. PSAV is offering a 20% discount on all hardware products to convention attendees. If additional labor is required, an estimate will be provided by PSAV.
    Panelists and presenters must request the ISA discount when ordering services. Contact information and a downloadable order form is available here (Word doc).

    Note to Workshop Chairs, Meeting Organizers, and Reception Organizers: Contact the ISA Convention Manager to make audio-visual arrangements for your workshop, business meeting, or other non-panel event. PSAV costs can be consolidated into the invoice for your function. E-Mail Jeanne White at Jeanne@u.arizona.edu for details.  

  • Sponsorship Opportunities: Publishers and companies are invited to sponsor a reception, coffee break, or e-mail station during the Annual Convention. Your company name will be listed in the Convention Program, on the web-posted preliminary program, or on event signage. For more information, see the Sponsor website located here.

Travel Grants

Deadline
:
All travel grant documents should be received by September 14th by 5 PM PST in order to be eligible for a travel grant.

Reimbursements:
ISA members who were awarded travel grants for the 2007 Convention should bring photocopies of travel receipts to the ISA Travel Grant Desk in the Registration area of the Hilton Chicago (Lower Level) during the following times:

Thursday, March 1
10 AM-5 PM

Friday, March 2
10 AM - 5 PM
