The last palace of the royal family of Hohenzollern is located within the landscaped park “Neuer Garten“. The Cecilienhof was built by Emperor Wilhelm II during World War I as a residence for the Crown Prince and his family and was named after his daughter-in-law the Duchess Cecilie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The Palace later hosted the Potsdam Conference (July17th to August 2nd, 1945) the historic summit between the allies, United States of America, Great Britain and the Soviet Union |
